The Door of Change
Dear Nancilee,
I just have to share an amazing feng
shui experience. From your book, "Look Before
You Love", I learned that we create spaces that
support our subconscious wishes and one way to augment
change is to alter the physical environment.
Here's my experience:
Every room in my home has a door that
leads outside to a deck, a screened porch or directly
into a garden -- with the exception of my bedroom.
I had been divorced for three years
and felt it was time to begin dating. At the end
of the first full year of dating, I decided I was tired
of going out with one man after another and set my
intentions on finding someone I could truly connect
with. To support that process I decided to add an
outside door to my bedroom and connect it to another
porch with a bridge so that I could walk outside onto a
deck directly from my bedroom.
Shall I cut to the chase and tell you
that the night before the workman was to put the
finishing touches on the bridge and door I met a man
with whom I connected deeply and since that night not a
day has gone by without us seeing each other.
I built a door and he walked into my
life. Isn't feng shui amazing?

Dear MS,
It seems incredible, but as the old
saying goes, "When the student is ready, the master
will enter." When you dared to break down the
walls sequestering you in your
bedroom, you proved that you were
willing to open yourself up to another. In your case it
certainly worked quickly. Apparently you were
ready!
