Numerology, Prayer and
Manifestation
We choose our joys and sorrows long before we
experience them. --Khalil
Gibran
This month we will be talking about the role that
Numerology can play within wishing, manifesting, and praying. We
will highlight the columns of this past year and focus in on the ways
in which we can utilize our own strength, courage, outside help and
motivation in achieving goals. Can you remember a time in your life
when your chances for success in a particular endeavor may have
looked slim? Somehow, against all odds, you achieved something that
might have seemed unachievable. In one way or another you
accomplished your goal. More than likely, you set your sights on your
goal, found strength, focused and attained it.
Almost all of
us have had, or choose to remember, experiences in which we overcame
obstacles. Do similar past accomplishments bring a smile to your
face? You know the work that was involved. We can all accomplish
these seemingly Herculean tasks when we set on minds on them.
Sometimes we just have to be willing to ask for and/or accept some
kind of help. Help can come in many forms. One recent study at Columbia
University, reports that patients at a clinic in Korea had higher
pregnancy rates when, unknown to them, total strangers prayed for
them. What force was at work here? Is it a coincidence? Is it a
miracle? It seems as if part of the answer is the focused effort of
the people praying.
Can Numerology shine the light on
anything here? Well, some type of action is required.
Lets look at the ways in which Numerology can highlight our
individual abilities toward motivation. Well look at that and
evaluate how we can tap into our inner motivation. On some level, we
at least need to be motivated to ask for help, pray, wish or
hope on some type of regular basis. After all, we are utilizing these
inner requests in an attempt to bring something new into our lives.
Our motivation can help us to stay vigilant until weve reached
our goals. Motivation is also critical when we are making resolutions
or intentions.
Good numbers to look at in understanding your
own willpower and motivation are your Soul Number, Destiny and
Hearts Desire number. These core numbers within
Numerology represent inner longings. We will focus on the Soul
Number, as it represents an individual's inner motivation and what he
or she really wants out of life. Do not forget about your deeper purpose
in life as it can be a strong guiding light in times of trouble.
While keeping your other numbers in mind, know that your Soul Number
is a central part of who you are. It represents your hopes, dreams, passions, and more. It is a good place to look to
understand how to best utilize your strengths when attempting to
accomplish goals. Because your Soul Number represents inner dreams, it can
also indicate innate abilities and talents, which you may not
know about.
Today, many people want to change the way they
are and break away from old patterns and habits. However, they lack
motivation and find change to be difficult. Finding ways to stay
motivated can be an important first step in changing. Simply asking
for help can be of great help to your cause. You may find help from
friends or perhaps an outside group. Change and staying motivated may
be difficult for some people, especially for those with Soul Numbers
that revolve around structure and leadership. People with Soul
numbers of 1, 4 and 8 often have inner struggles with these issues.
These people, and those like them, often enjoy things the way they
are. They are not afraid of hard work. However, they may be resistant
to change.
When you think of the above Soul Numbers (1, 4,
and 8) think about a solid, straight-back wooden chair. They are firm,
unyielding, and not very comfortable to sit in for long periods of
time. These people are symbolically like the chair. They are firm,
persistent and often uncomfortable in unstructured situations. They
believe that they should be in charge. Their answers are the correct
ones, and do not want to take orders. They can be great planners, but
may have a hard time dealing with the unexpected. Change can bother
them, and their reality is black and white. It is important,
particularly for these individuals, to have a clear idea of what they
want in their lives. Only then will they be successful.
Are you aware of the changes you would like to make in your own life? It can also
be to your benefit to pay attention to your dreams
and have a support group within your community to turn to. A trusted
friend, mentor or support group can be a great ally. Meaningful relationships
are vital during stressful times. Someone who cares about your
success can help you to achieve your goals. They can hold a vision for
you and keep your dreams in their own mind and heart. This can be
one ideal way to get outside help. These people can effectively
pray for your success. In this way, their strength and
encouragement will help you to add hope and vitality to your goals
and make the changes that you want to make.
Maybe you just
want to improve your confidence level. Perhaps you wish to change a
habit, such as smoking, drinking, gambling or eating junk food. What
is usually difficult for people, when changing a habit, is
coping with cravings. We all have cravings. At times, we all
want that piece of chocolate cake at 2:00 a.m. in the morning. Your pattern or habit has supported
you in some way and has been important to you for a long time. It may
be silly to expect it to vanish overnight. With time, hopefully, you will experience your cravings less frequently.
And, eventually,
they will fade.
Those people, who enjoy having a good time,
being popular, and taking it easy, may find they need more outside
help and a regular plan to stay motivated and make changes in their
lives. People with a Soul Number of 2 or 3 may fall into this
category. They may have no difficulty asking for help, but these
numbers deal with an inner need to be comfortable. People like this
may find that although they know they need to break away from their
regular routines, they cant find a way. The more you enjoy
activities that reinforce old habits, the more difficult it will be
to make changes in your life. You will need to find a way to motivate
yourself. Building hope in your life will be important. Asking for
help is a start, but you will also need to act.
You will need
to evaluate whatever is holding you back in your life. You may feel
the inner desire from deep inside to make changes. Your inner desire
may be pulling you in an unpopular direction. Perhaps you
wish to dive into the business world, while your friends encourage
you to do something else. Think of a juggler, when you think of the 3
and 2 Soul numbers. He can have many items in the air, but he must be
careful not to let them drop. These people can be very good at
multitasking. When they are successful, they are grand
masters, but can fall apart when things get to busy or stressful.
Ideally they would like the best of their world of
entertainment/enjoyment combined with the world of work/stress. They
may not know where to best focus their energies, as they feel pulled
in many directions. Are you like this? Who do you listen to? What do
you listen to? Developing a personal practice
or ritual and uncovering the mystery of your Soul Number can
help you to better understand what is best to do. It represents your
inner dreams and visions, which can be brought into reality if you are
willing to do the work. You may first have to do the inner work
(therapy, psychology, NLP, etc
) before you can bring workable
results into the external world.
Questions to ask about the changes you
would like to make are:
How will I feel if I make no
changes? How will I feel if I change? How will others feel if I
change/stay the same? How will I feel later if I give in to my
cravings?
Remember that, more often than not, the qualities
represented by your Soul Number are hidden from others. They dont
know, understand, or see them in you. This is especially true for
people with a Soul Number of 5 or 7 and to a lesser degree 9. The
qualities represented by these numbers tend to be more personal,
introspective and deliberate. Here you can think of a monk, Chaplin,
or librarian. These numbers represent forethought, insight, clarity,
research, and humility. People with these numbers may need to make
room and time for themselves. They may suffer without regular quiet
time alone. It also may be difficult for them to find the right
words, so that they can ask for help.
Your Soul Number really
is your inner motivation and what you really want out of life. The
qualities it represents can be developed when you find a way to nurture
your soul. Also, your Soul Number represents qualities and
characteristics that are often internalized. Your other numbers, like
the Life Path and Outer number will represent characteristics that
are often more external and easily seen by others.
Finding
ways to express yourself and bring out your talents can then help
others to see what you can and want to do. They may even encourage
you to do more. In this way, you will be encouraged to continue. The
changes that you wish to make may be part of a larger plan, on your
part, to live life in a more conscious
and aware manner. You may wish to develop a life, where you learn
from your experiences rather than feeling like a victim. Now, you may
be wondering where to begin.
One place to begin is by
examining the lives of people who have changed their lives. It can
inspire, provide hope, and motivate you to make your own changes. The
ways in which they received help may spark an idea for you. One
person who has a story that has become larger than the person herself
is Erin Brockovich. Brockovich is not her birthname, but this is the
name that people all around the world have come to know her by. This
name is the name by which people relate to her. Looking into her Soul
Number, with this understanding, reveals that she has a Soul Number
of 8. Of course, this is found by adding the number for each vowel in
her name. You can use the Soul Number calculator to see for yourself.
The 8 Soul Number represents someone who is firm and
unyielding, it also represents the need to succeed, be seen, and
accomplish. Erin certainly has been seen and her story revolves
around some big accomplishments. From reading about her, Ive
found that she had early self-esteem problems. She could ask for help, but
would rather do things on her own if she could. However, it takes
someone with a lot of will power and determination to work like she
did. She worked almost around the clock for months in her research
against PG&E. There is irony here, in that although she has a very
powerful and demanding number (8) for her Soul Number, she had early
struggles to live up to it.
The Soul Number of 8 is
demanding, and as weve seen before, the Soul Number often talks
about and represents internal qualities. We often have to fight to
bring out these qualities, and it may be difficult at times to do
this. Erin has definitely had a tough time getting to where she is. I
decided to write about her because it seems like she is indeed a
motivated person and has developed her own sense of ritual and
personal spirituality. Her story can definitely be used as a means of
inspiration. You can compare your Soul Number, and other personal
numbers with those of Erin and other people who might inspire you.
This can help you to see some of the strengths and weaknesses that
these people have overcome. In the long run this can contribute to
your sense of hope and well being.
As 2002 is approaching,
you may also wish to take a look at your Personal Year and evaluate
where your trouble spots will be. It may be that you are in a 9 year,
which is an ending year. An ending year, is a great time to eliminate
certain situations, especially those that do not support you, from
your life. It can be a good time to pray for change and ask for help.
Certain situations will naturally be moving out of your life at this
time.
In order to succeed, you will need ways to build
self-esteem, courage and stamina. In addition, finding ways to ask
for help, develop a personal practice, and utilizing affirmations
can be a tremendous advantage to you in your daily life. Remember
that you are not here alone; we all have others in our lives who can help in various
ways. Do not be afraid to ask for help. Ultimately the ability for
change and growth rests in your hands. Know that this process does not
have to be a struggle.
Good Luck on your journey in Soulful Living and Numerology.
