Can anyone become psychic, are we all born
psychic, or is it only a special few?
I believe everyone is psychic. Everyone? I hear
you ask. Yes everyone, even the politicians.
It's just that not everyone recognizes that they
are. When you where young and your beliefs on
what is real or not real where not established,
your psychic abilities flowed naturally and
easily. If a child's parents were going to leave
the house and the child had a clairvoyant (saw
the future) moment and saw the parents in a car
accident, the child would not doubt this vision,
would not think they where imagining things, or
tell themselves to stop being silly and that
nothing will happen. This is what the parents
would most likely say when the child tells them
not to go in the car because they will get hurt!
The older we get the more you are told what is
real and not real. Not through experience, but
through verbal repetition. A close friend of
mine was told repeatedly when she was young to
stop being silly and grow up, there was no one
there, your friends are imaginary! Imaginary? My
friend would say, but I can see and hear them?
Later in life, when she turned 40, she started
communicating with her spirits guides. They
confirmed her long held belief that they were
her so called imaginary friends she had as a
small child.
So a lot of us are talked out of being psychic
when we were at a young age. We were told to
stop being silly, ignore this ignore that, it's
only your imagination. Unfortunately when we are
adults and our psychic gifts try to make a
comeback so to speak, we miss there subtle signs
in the beginning. Not all psychic gifts come
with a Choir of Angel’s trumpets blaring bells
and ding donging.
Have you ever thought about a friend for no
reason then a few minutes later they rang you?
Did you stop and say to yourself , “Wow I am
psychic!” and mean it? Or did you just blow it
off as coincidence, or strange? Well it was a
psychic moment. You picked up the subtle energy
of your friend as they thought “I'll ring such
and such.” That's why your friend popped into
your head for no reason. If instead of blowing
it off you thought, “Wow I just had a psychic
moment”, and dwelled on the feeling; in the
future you would become more sensitive to this
feeling and instead of your friend just popping
in your head you might think “Jane's going to
call me.” In time this feeling will continue to
grow stronger and pass on more information.
How many times in your life have you said to
yourself, “I knew I should have done that!” or
“I knew that was going to happen!”? Maybe it was
a nice sunny day and as you were about to leave
the house you stopped at the front door and
stared at the umbrella and had a funny feeling
you should take the umbrella with you. BUT, with
one quick look outside at the sun, and a quick
“Don't be silly why would I need that today?”,
and you’re out the door without your umbrella.
Then 4 hours later your saying to yourself, “I
knew I should have taken that umbrella!”, as you
standing soaking wet in the rain that came from
out of now where.
Using psychic abilities is just like using a
muscle, the more you use it the stronger it gets
and the more you can do with it. Imagine if you
had of just said to yourself “why not” and taken
the umbrella. Then 4 hours later how happy would
you have been with yourself, not just because
you’re dry but because you actually listened to
your funny feeling and it paid off. That funny
feeling would have such a strong positive memory
attached to it that in the future and it would
be easier to recognize. Each time becoming a
little stronger and easier to recognize.
How can I recognize these funny feelings I hear
you ask. Well meditation is a good start, it
quiets the minds chitter chatter so your funny
feeling can be felt. The mind loves to keep you
busy thinking about anything and everything,
with all this noise going on in your head its
makes it more difficult in the beginning to
recognize your funny feelings.
There are many techniques for quieting the mind
that I will discuss next time, but I will leave
you with one simple example. Focus on your
breathing. When you find your mind will not
stop, just focus on your breathing. Make your
breaths deliberate and focus your attention as
you breathe in and breathe out. Your mind will
start its chitter chatter again very soon once
you stop focusing on your breathing but it’s a
good start.
