Life After the Leap

It is always a marvel to watch someone leap off the “life-as-I-know-it” cliff and wobble bravely into uncharted mind-body-spirit territory to begin another life adventure.
Perhaps you are wondering why I say “wobble” instead of something more savvy and action-oriented such as “forge ahead”. I choose the word “wobble” because as an Intuitive Life Coach, this is exactly what the energy looks like. Before leaping, there is
often a lot of wobbling going on in a topsy-turvy sea of hesitation, fear, confusion and self-doubt. Then, just in the nick of time, you find the courage to step off the cliff and take an exhilarating leap toward a more centered and fulfilling life. Oh, welcome relief!
So, what happens after you follow your heart and take a magic carpet ride into the unknown? The good news is that this is when a special brand of post-leap courage kicks in. It’s a winning mind-body-spirit combo solidly anchored in endurance, stamina –
in short, its mind-body-spirit staying power.
Why do we need endurance and stamina? We need it because right after a rock-your-world leap of faith, there is an energy stage called a gestation period where new life patterns form and old life patterns dissolve. The tricky part is that they are both
happening at the same time. Left unmanaged, gestation energy has the potential to send you reeling off in all directions. Endurance and stamina are excellent gestation energy stabilizers that really come in handy for the vulnerable moments when initial post-leap elation
evaporates and the “oh my, what have I done” self-speak begins.
PART 1 - Life after the Leap Scenarios
Let’s take a few minutes to explore four common scenarios people encounter after a leap of faith. Then, I’ll share some Intuitive Life Coaching Tips & Exercises from the new Life after the Leap life-coaching program to help you joyfully navigate
new terrain, based on where you are today:
Life after the Leap Scenario 1: Boom & Bust
Characteristic: Hit the ground running and slowly lose steam
Life after the Leap Scenario 2: Wishy-Washy
Characteristic: Freeze in the moment and falter; one step forward and one step back
Life after the Leap Scenario 3: Get me out of here!
Characteristic: Wide-eyed stare (gasp!) and a quick scramble back up the cliff
Life after the Leap Scenario 4: Built to Last
Characteristic: Put extra gas in the mind-body-spirit energy tank before the leap, well positioned to embrace the next step of the self-discovery process.
In terms of energy percentages, Scenario 1 usually accounts for 25% of people; Scenario 2, 10% of people; and Scenario 3 accounts for about 20% of people. Scenario 4 comes in at 45% --- and is often considered the most appealing, user-friendly and
sustainable of the group.
Life Coaching Tip 1:
The good news is that like any new personal growth opportunity we tackle in life, the more often you follow your heart, trust the Universe and leap off the cliff, the better you become at preparing, leaping and dealing with the aftermath (… or afterglow).
On an even more positive note, it is encouraging to note that the percentage of people manifesting Scenario 4 (Built to Last) often increases from 45% to 70% by the second mind-body-spirit leap of faith.

*The Right Questions by Debbie Ford
Life Coaching Exercise 1:
To make the Life After the Leap information meaningful to you today, connect your breath with your heart and identify the time(s) in your life when you took a heart-centered risk. Note if any of the four Life After the Leap scenarios
manifested at that time. Now, take it a step further. Do you notice a pattern(s)?
Life Coaching Tip 2:
The area where most (80%) courageous people have a challenge is in managing the post-leap emotion category. This is not surprising since in energetic terms, the Emotion Life Force category handles what we choose to make things mean. This includes a full
spectrum of the nourishing and/or draining feelings that we attach to the meaning. In the absence of an old energetic pattern, before the formation of the new one, what we choose to make things mean has the potential go all over the map --- primarily fueled by our hopes,
dreams, fears and beliefs.
PART 3 - The Athletics of Living Large
There are lots of excellent perspectives on the courage it takes to make leap of faith, so I am going to zoom in on the mind-body-spirit endurance (stamina) factor. In fact, let’s imagine that the life-supporting vibration of endurance is just like an
athlete training for a marathon where the prize is manifesting your best post-leap of faith life … plus all the other synergistic goodies that come along with it!
Here’s the question: Do you have enough gas in your tank to sustain you --- mind, body and spirit --- post-leap of faith? If the answer is a resounding yes, then you most likely have a) already experienced one or more of the first three post-jump
scenarios cited above; b) are devoting time and attention to the your well-being; 3) love leaping into the unknown because were a kangaroo in your last life … just kidding.
The point is that that the life expanding experience of taking a leap of faith doesn’t end when your toes touch the ground and you exhale in delight. Planting your toes on the ground simply sets you up for the preamble of the gestation energy stage --- a
place where familiar energetic structures are revamped, emotions run tender, and beliefs are challenged.
Be sure to set yourself up for success. Invest in life supporting structures such as honest, compassionate self-talk, surround yourself with inspiring people and books, connecting with nature often, engage the services of a trained professional such as
life coach or similar facsimile.
Give yourself the beautiful gift of finding out what you really need to go the extra mile toward a spectacular post-leap of faith experience – complete with all the bows, buttons and trimmings!
