Finding Soulful Work Through the Use of Numerology

This month we will explore the use of Numerology in finding soulful work. How do you connect your soul to your work? How can you turn your work into something that awakens your soul, and helps you to lead a happy, balanced, productive life? At first this may seem difficult. However, like anything we do in life, it is important to start with small steps. We all would like to find a way to nurture our soul.

Some people may ask, "What is soulful work?" Some know the concept as Right Livelihood. No matter the terms, the concept is ancient. The concept of soulful work involves finding joy in the method that you support yourself, being responsible for your actions, living lightly and budgeting your use of resources. Soulful work is a belief that respect for life is important, as is respect for the planet.

Numerology can help you begin to take those first steps in your campaign to nourish your soul at work. Numerology can help, whether you have decided that your current career is a dead end, or you feel that you can improve your standings where you are. Planning and strategizing can be very important in your campaign, and Numerology can show you the appropriate days to interview, socialize, network and plan through the use of Career Numbers.

Your Career Numbers can help you to strategize in a calm, well thought out manner. Once you know the best times of the month for success you can spend your energy appropriately. The days 1,4,8,10,13,19,26, and 28 of any month are the best days to focus on your current career. Skill building can be worked on during these days. Also, scheduling a career review for one of these days can be most beneficial to you. Days 2, 3, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 15, 18, 20, 21, 23, 24, 29, 30,and 31 are the best days for interviewing. Days 2, 3, 5, 9, 12, 14, 18, 21, 23, 24, and 30 are good days for socializing.

As you search, you will realize that it is important to "infuse" all aspects of your life with soul and spirit. You can bring soul into your life through simple things like volunteering in your community. This can be especially important when you are raising a family. Teenagers can build trust, self-esteem and self-confidence by volunteering and dedicating themselves towards peace. Who knows where this will lead them in their quest for soulful work?

Building a soulful life can be the beginning of a lifelong richly rewarding journey. Your results will be as powerful as your drive, focus, intention, and persistence. Your desired life changes can require you to "clear the path" for progress. Clutter in your life can contribute to lack of safety, and being unorganized, stressed, and confused. It may be difficult to bring new opportunities into your life, until you let go of the parts of your life that no longer work, fit, or are useful. Feng Shui readings, which are based numerologically on the I Ching, can help you to begin clearing your personal spaces for better health, and success.

Feng Shui, with the help of an energy/chi/qi map (Bagua Map) of your home/office can help to you to properly design your personal spaces, for your best overall well being. Each number of the Bagua reflects a certain kind of energy. To the Chinese, no number is bad/good. The energy of each number is cyclic, and Feng Shui attempts to harness this energy for your benefit in growth, healing, and harmony.

According to Feng Shui, changes we make to our environment will be reflected by corresponding changes in different areas of our lives. In the quest for soulful work there are several things that you can do in your life to improve your Feng Shui. These range from consulting with a Feng Shui master to the simple things, like harnessing the power of your Career Direction. It is believed that by facing in your Career Direction while working, or in meetings you will improve your career chi/energy and this will help you to be successful.

To the Chinese your success means that you have stepped into your own power, and are a strong leader. Others will not "stab you in the back" and you are a respected authority. Spirituality is also a strong part of their beliefs in success.

One of the phrases that seems to gain more power, once you begin utilizing your Career Direction is "Find Your True North". This becomes even more powerful when you realize that the Chinese feel that North is the most powerful Career Direction. Placing a small fountain, or other water symbol, in the North corner of your office can also increase your Career chi.

The power of chi/qi was understood by Pythagoras (founder of Numerology), Hippocrates, and Isaac Newton. However, a Yale University professor (1914-1964), Dr. Harold Saxton Burr, is probably the first viable western doctor to talk about and believe in chi/qi. He is known for teaching, "Life on this planet is not isolated from the universe but is a part of it. Man is an integral part of the Cosmos, subject to its inflexible laws and a participant in the destiny and purpose of the universe."

Professor Burr did extensive research (1935-1956) to determine if the beginnings of disease can be detected in the energy field of the body before physical symptoms appear. He was convinced that restoring the energy field of the body to normal could reverse physical symptoms.

As you can see, your surroundings can influence your overall well being. Once you have a better understanding for the techniques mentioned here, and their impact on your life, it can be important to help others practice them. Your ultimate success can depend on many other people. Success is also about the connections you make. Respect the people in your life and they will respect you.

One tool that can help you to better respect and deal with people is the Enneagram. Greek for "nine" and "drawing," the Enneagram is a nine-pointed star with a personality type at each point. It can help in many ways, including knowing how to interact with, and get the best from others. As it is difficult task to determine your type, you will need to take a test, or consult a good book to know your Enneagram number.

Each number in the Enneagram has a plus/light side and a minus/dark side. Knowing the numbers of your coworkers and clients can help you to understand the ways in which they think. This will allow you to know the best way to interact with others.

One of the most respected Enneagram teachers and authors is Helen Palmer. She has said that she teaches the Enneagram as a "personalized road map for spiritual experience." The main theory of the Enneagram is that by recognizing your patterns and methods of defense, you can begin to make conscious choices rather than being stuck in old patterns. This indeed can be useful for your quest for soulful work.

As we learn more about how outside factors can influence our career potential we will need to become more aware of general events that influence us. Studying Astrology, and the Moon in particular, can help in this regard. The moon is on a 28-day cycle. The moon goes through twelve signs of the zodiac in a lunar month. About every two days, the moon enters a new zodiac sign and therefore has a profound influence on all of us. You can prepare for the days to come, if you know the moon phase. Studying the phases of the moon can help you to be more in sync with the environment. The phases and their uses are briefly explained below:
