This month we will
look at the use of Numerology in art and creativity.
The
quest for art, and artistry, can be about seeking out
ways to ignite passion, inspiration, and beauty in our
lives. We can foster greater understanding of our lives
by looking at and creating art. Art is one way in which
we can tap into the rich poetry of our hearts and souls.
Numerology can provide methods to help you to further
understand that inner language and poetry.
As we roll up our
sleeves and begin this month’s journey, you may shake
your head and say, "I’m not an artist." Or
"I don’t have time for art."
Creativity is about
expressing, building, craving, living, inventing,
sensuality and even lust. It does not have to be about
making art yourself, and it does not have to be dull or
boring. It can include exploring the art and creativity
of others. By glimpsing into the artistry and thoughts
of another person, we can get a taste of the artists
soul. We can even get a glimpse of the symbolism of the
artist’s life.
If you do not have
time for "art," then you probably do not have
time to enjoy life. Your job is probably just a
"job," and you may feel cut off from the rest
of the world. Art can help you to begin to open up to
life. Creativity is about escaping from cultural
programming and the routine and the mundane.
Once you allow
yourself to explore your creative passions, then you
will give yourself the opportunity to bring to life new
ideas and situations, from deep within your imagination.
It is my desire to
find ways to live life, with the benefit of Numerology
and spirituality. According to Thomas Moore (author:
Care of the Soul) "Caring for the soul isn't a
level of higher consciousness. It's about being less
intellectual and losing control and rediscovering
imagination and love and compassion."
How better to
rediscover imagination, than through art and creativity?
One way to begin this rediscovery can be through the
introduction of new decorations in your home. Decorating
your home appropriately is important. Your home speaks
volumes about your personality. Many cultures are aware
of this. We can look to Feng
Shui for a hint at how powerful a well kept home can
be in our lives.
Do interesting
paintings line your walls –or are your walls and
living space void of life-transforming art? Growth can
be inspired through art, and creativity. Paintings,
pottery, wall hangings, statues, fountains and more can
add to the beauty of any home.
One simple way to
begin your creative rediscovery is through the
exploration of color in your life. Numerologically, you
can match up your personal numbers with particular
colors. Your personal numbers can be used to indicate
the appropriate color for clothes, decorating, painting
and more. Also, you can match your desire for developing
a particular quality (courage, honesty, loyalty, and
persistence…) with a particular color. You can then
apply that color in your life to help develop your
desired qualities.
Once again we will
look at two of the most important numbers in Numerology,
which are your Soul Number
and your Personality
Number.
These numbers can be used to indicate colors, which can
bring out and develop your personality on an inner (Soul
Number) and outer (Personality Number) level. Your Life
Journey Number can be used to indicate colors for
clothes, and decorations, that can help to stimulate
your career or avocation.
Each number has
multiple colors associated with it. Each number has a
primary color, which directly corresponds to your
chakras and your sense of health and balance. Your
secondary colors are associated with overall growth. All
of the colors can be extremely powerful in your life and
are important as they can be used to your benefit for
personal development, self-discovery, and tapping into
your creativity.
Understanding the
power of color can be as simple as learning which colors
go with what particular numbers. For instance, apricot
corresponds to the number 1. By wearing an apricot
colored blouse, or shirt, you can aid the development of
individuality, creativity and inventiveness (which are
all aspects of the number 1) in your life. Do not be
afraid to experiment. Play with color in your life and
see what happens. This can be a powerful way to open up
to creativity and joy.
Personally, I have
been working with the color blue. In my office, I’ve
placed several geodes, which are blue. People do seem to
notice that something is different, and seem to stop by
when they need some quiet time. It seems to be working.
Also, a few very nice looking rocks now occupy an empty
spot on my desk. It is very unique and creative. I think
it is much better than if I hung a poster. Creativity
can be fun as well as inspiring.
Overall
the colors that are related to inner work (Blue, indigo
and violet) can be beneficial for inner work,
reflection, and meditation. Also, greens and blues
having calming qualities and time seems to go faster in
rooms with greens/blues, which can be good for waiting
areas.
The
colors that are related to creativity (Red, Yellow, and
Indigo) can be beneficial for decorating rooms, and
clothes, when you want to encourage individuality and
creativity. Red colors seem to slow down time, and as
such a red waiting room can make your wait seem like
forever.
Matching your colors
to your personal numbers can help to enhance or bring
out the qualities represented them. If you have a #4
Soul Number, then by utilizing the colors green, and
brown, you can help to foster responsibility, structure,
and solidity in your life. If you want, or need, to
break out of your "role" as supporter then you
may wish to incorporate the dynamic powers of red,
orange, and yellow into your life.
Color
could very well be the most extraordinary experience we
take for granted.
Scientifically, it has been proven that the human eye
can discern as many as 15,000,000 colors. We view and
experience our lives through color as much as we do
shape, texture and sound.
We
often overlook the blind, and colorblind
people in our society. Understanding this can help to
foster compassion, caring, and comprehension in our
lives. These aspects which are all important in our
creative journey, as they can help us tap into parts of
others and ourselves that need to be heard.
