The Romance Reverend’s Meditation and Reflection on Soulful, Sensual Love

How Do We Make Our Love Dreams Come True?

Dear Romance Reverend,

I understand that when you go to bed with a specific vision or wish that it is more likely to manifest in your life. I would like love and a soulful lover for the holiday season. I am ready! First, I would like to ask you to pray for me and with me on this. Second, I am wondering if you have any special techniques that I might try.

-- Bright Blessings, Janice, from Mill Valley, California

Dear Janice,

First of all, I will be praying with you and for you for such a worthy gift: May you meet your soulful lover this holiday season! Make sure you add your specific wish to our soulful love question of the month, and I will also put your request on my special "Love Altar," which is blessed by the ultimate soulful lovers, Hindu avatar Krishna and his beloved, Radha. In fact, this is my favorite month – it’s my birthday! – so to celebrate a year of exploring soulful love together -- my holiday gift offer to all our readers is I will put everyone’s holiday love wishes on the altar during the month of December. Please feel free to make your love wishes as specific and as long as you like. Add them to the soulful love question of the month and e-mail them to me at RomanceRev@SoulfulLiving.com.

To answer you question about manifesting: yes, making a wish, focusing, and visualizing love, as your last act before sleeping, is a good idea. It’s important to make dreams come alive within you, in order to draw them to you. To help with your goal of visualization before bedtime, I share with you a very special preview meditation (below) from my forthcoming book, A Goddess Is A Girl’s Best Friend, which will be out November 2002. The meditation asks a series of leading questions that speak to your yearnings for a soulful lover, but also inspire, draw out and help you bring to life images and ideas of the kind of loving you desire. You can keep a copy of the meditation beside your bed and spend time reflecting on and visualizing each point just before falling asleep.

The Romance Reverend’s Meditation and Reflection
on Soulful, Sensual Love

(This is written for heterosexual women, but easily adaptable for anyone by simply changing the pronouns.)

Set the mood. Play a piece of enticing yet soothing music. Light two candles. One for him, and one for you. This will illuminate your experience, and also shine a light to show him the way home … to you.

Include everything. If you truly want a soulful lover, it is important that you imagine some of the sensual and erotic qualities you choose to experience with your love mate. Be as specific as you can, and include details on the physical, emotional, spiritual (and any other) dimensions of lovemaking. Unless you are in a sacred relationship already, do not include images of a specific person. This is a very powerful meditation. It’s inappropriate to place spiritual expectations on someone who hasn’t agreed to be intimate with you.

Meditation begins with this positive affirmation in the present tense: "I am now cherished, loved, honored and adored by the man of my dreams."

Now reflect on these points: Give each point some time, visualizing and "feeling the responses," when possible.

1. How do you feel when he looks you deeply in the eyes?

2. Imagine how secure and loved you feel in his arms.

3. Think of things he tells you as he holds you and strokes you.

4. How do you feel about yourself in the space of being cherished, adored, and loved by the man of your dreams?

5. Can you feel your heart opening? Can you feel your second chakra, the sexual center, opening? See that part of your body vibrating with orange. Can you feel your throat chakra opening, freeing your communication--because you can tell him anything! See that part of your body coated in indigo blue.

6. Imagine your anticipation of being with him in loving surrender, sharing the things you’ve only dreamed about before. What does it feel like, inside your body, when you think of opening to him and sharing your love.

7. How does it feel to be loved by him? How does he feel to be loved by you? What’s it like to be so in love?

8. What does the scent of love smell like to you? What does he smell like, as you lay entwined together? What is your own scent?

9. What does love sound like to you? The rhythmic beating of his heart, and yours, in harmony? The soft sound of his breath in your ear?

10. What do you sense about life, about yourself, about your relationship when you are in his loving embrace? Where does the journey take you? Deeper into your heart? To a place of awakening of love, where the world feels so delicious and you feel so overwhelmingly wonderful?

11. What do you want more of when your bodies are entwined together? How open can you be? How intimate do you truly want to be?

12. How does his skin feel, when it’s next to yours? And what does your flesh feel like against his? What is it like for you to feel him there, his physical being all around you, loving you, wanting you, and pleasing you?

13. What are his kisses like? Does his mouth feel like your mouth, like you are the same person, one kiss, and one mouth? What’s it like to have someone there, always, to kiss you?

14. What does he say when he makes love? What are the things you long to hear him tell you? What does it feel like when he speaks them softly into your ear?

15. Where is God when you make love with your man? Where is the Goddess? Do you feel Great Spirit permeating you and your beloved, making you each holy and whole and uniting you in the God/Goddess force energy of pure love? Do you see the divinity in yourself through him; does he see his own God nature when he gives himself to you? Do you realize that this is the way it is meant to be--that we awaken one another to our own divine nature through love?

Close with this affirmation. Say it out loud and give it energy and life. "I am cherished, loved, honored and adored by the man of my dreams, now."

Go to sleep right after this meditation and awake refreshed. Note how you feel in the morning and notice how people respond to you in the course of a day. This can raise your energy so that you begin to lift into your vision, and live it more fully. Do this as many times as you want. Also, send your wishes out into the universe to your true love, wherever may be. If you believe in him, maybe he can hitch a ride on Santa’s sleigh!

Happy Holidays!
